Playground Management Guidelines
Effective 1998, the Canadian Standard, CAN/CSA Z614-98, was approved as a National Standard of Canada by the Standards Council of Canada. The Standard applies to any public play area, including child care centres.
Many Government regulators, specifically Ontario and Quebec have included compliance to the CSA Z614 through regular inspections. To this end Canadian Playground Advisory Inc. with the assistance of experts in playgrounds and the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services published a document that is to help Child Care Operators in providing playspaces that meet the performance requirements of the CSA Z614.
